This blog represents an exploration of ideas and issues related to what it means to be a disciple of Jesus in the 21st century Western context of religious pluralism, post-Christendom, and late modernity. Blog posts reflect a practical theology and Christian spirituality that results from the nexus of theology in dialogue with culture.

My essay on Heavy Metal and Satanic Panics now available in Diabolique
Diabolique No. 15 (March/April 2013) is now available on newsstands. As the cover indicates, this edition is devoted to an exploration of "The Dark Side of Rock N' Roll." I have an essay in this issue titled "Devil's Music: Rock N' Roll, Heavy Metal, and the Dangers of Satanic Panics." The whole issue is great, and I couldn't be happier with the photos and layout that incorporates my essay which can be downloaded on my Academia.edu page. My thanks go to everyone at Diabolique for this opportunity.

New Interview with Douglas Cowan Posted on TheoFantastique
There is a new interview with Douglas Cowan just posted on TheoFantastique that may be of interest to readers of Morehead's Musings. The interview is subtitled "The Unholy Human, Fanaticism, and Fear of the Flesh" and it can be viewed here. The interview looks at the intersection between religion, cinema, and terror as it relates to the re-enforcement of concepts related to the "evil religious other." There is much here that will be of interest to students of religion and film, as well as those interested in Pagan and Christian studies.
